Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
Ridelot provides digital showrooms for car dealerships. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and the choices you have. It covers dealers (our account holders) and buyers who contact a dealer through a showroom. We process personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act and related regulations.
2. What we collect
Dealers: your email, password (stored only as a secure hash), dealership profile (name, location, WhatsApp number, logo, social links), your listings and photos, and billing state. Buyers: when you send an inquiry, inspection request or budget request, we collect what you submit, typically your name, phone number and message, and pass it to the dealership you contacted. We also keep basic usage data such as showroom view counts and technical logs (including IP addresses used for rate limiting and abuse prevention).
3. How we use it
To run the product: host showrooms, deliver leads to dealers, send transactional email (verification, password reset, lead alerts, performance digests), process subscription payments, prevent abuse, and improve the service. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use buyer contact details for our own marketing.
4. Who we share it with
Service providers who help us operate: Paystack (payments), Resend (email delivery), our hosting and image storage providers, and Meta's WhatsApp Business platform where WhatsApp notifications are enabled. Each receives only what it needs. Buyer lead details are shared with the dealership the buyer chose to contact; how that dealership handles them afterwards is its responsibility. We may disclose data where the law requires it.
5. Retention and security
Account and listing data is kept while your account is active. Leads are kept so dealers can manage their pipeline. Passwords are hashed, reset links are single use and expire, sessions are encrypted, and access to production data is restricted. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we will notify you as required by law.
6. Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and you can object to or restrict certain processing. Dealers can edit most data directly in Settings. Buyers who want their details removed from a dealership's lead inbox can contact us and we will assist. Email preferences (lead alerts, weekly digest) can be turned off in Settings, and every marketing style email has an unsubscribe link.
7. Contact
For privacy requests or questions, use the support contact in the app footer. If you believe your rights have been infringed, you may also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
